At Hoisington Historical Society, we've done our best to create a Web site that anticipates and satisfies our customers' needs. Current Operations
Where are you located? Answer: We are located at: 120 East 2nd St., Hoisington, KS 67544
What are your hours of operation? Answer: Currently every 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month or by appointment.
Will there be a entrance fee? Answer: No, not at this time. We would like you to sign the guest registry.
Membership
How much are membership fees? Answer: $5 a year, single membership; $10, family; $125, lifetime; and $250 for family lifetime membership. The fees are due by September 1st of each year.
What do I need to do to become a member? Answer: The simplest and easiest way is to go to our membership application page fill it out and mail it in. The instructions are located on that page.
Am I required to be a resident of Hoisington in order to be a member? Answer: Absolutely not. We currently have members from Iowa and Texas. Anyone with an interest in preserving the history of Hoisington is welcomed to join.
What to expect
What can I expect to see when I go to the Hoisington Historical Society? Answer: Historical memorabilia, such as: old maps, postcards, old Palace Hotel phone switchboard, an antique buffet, railroad memorabilia and old clothing. In the future, plans are to set up one room as an old period room. Many of the items to be seen are donated by local residents.
